Newbies who are new to LED advertising screens must have scratched their heads: This thing can cost hundreds of thousands of devices. Where is the most critical board hidden in the corner? Why do some screens flash like disco lights after two years, while others can last ten years? Today we will break it apart and talk about the "heart" hidden behind the display.

​​1. Where is the board hidden? ​ ​
Open the back cover of the advertising screen and you will see a densely packed circuit board. Don’t panic, the board usually looks like this:

• Main control card: palm-sized metal box with heat dissipation holes
• Receiving card: matchbox size, labeled with a QR code
• Power card: The one with the transformer feels a little hot to the touch.

​​2. Board quality directly determines three things​​

1. Will the screen suddenly go black (especially on rainy days)
2. Will the color turn white or gray (very different from the seller’s show)
3. Is the maintenance cost high (replacing a board is enough to buy a new TV)

​​3. Three death questions you must ask when buying a screen​​

• What is the protection level of your boards? (Outdoor screen must be at least IP65)
• How many grayscale levels are supported? (Less than 16bit pass directly)
• What is the maximum refresh rate? (In shopping malls, the screen must be ≥1920Hz without flickering)

There was a collective strike on the screens in a shopping mall last month. After a long investigation, it turned out that the dust on the board caused a short circuit. Remember these three actions:

1. Blow out the slots with compressed air every quarter (never blow with your mouth! )
2. Apply waterproof coating to the board before the rainy season (don’t apply it to the interface! )
3. If you find that the screen is shaking, first check the voltage of the power card (if the error exceeds 5%, report it for repair immediately)

Finally, the editor would like to tell the truth: some manufacturers on the market now make the boards non-detachable, euphemistically calling them "integrated design".
