Recently, a fan sent me a private message and asked me: "I just bought the LED advertising screen for only three months, and it feels so hot that it can fry eggs! Isn't this thing going on? "To be honest, this question reminds me of the days when I was an apprentice in Electronic City - at that time, the master always said: "Look at the copper first when looking at the screen, the copper is good, and the screen is strong." Today, let’s talk about the “copper skin mystery” hidden in the LED screen.
Speaking of LED screen structure, it is like making a thousand-layer cake. The outermost is the lamp bead packaging layer, the driving circuit board is sandwiched in the middle, and the heat dissipation substrate is at the bottom. This copper skin is hidden in the sandwich layer of the driver circuit board. The key point is: The copper skin is mainly distributed in three key positions:
When an international stadium project was accepted last year, the engineering team suffered the loss of copper-skin layout. The rental screen they chose frequently blackened when they were built on the stage. When they were disassembled, they looked at it. The copper strip on the driver board was as thin as hair! Later, I changed to a quick disassembly and assembly screen with thickened copper layer, and I didn't make any mistakes in the concert for three consecutive days.
Here is a reminder for beginners:When selecting a screen, you must check the three copper strip parameters:
Two days ago, I helped my friend detect a second-hand poster screen. I took the thermal imager and found a problem - the temperature difference in the area was 15℃! When I opened it, I found that the copper skin was distributed like a dog's chewing, one piece in the east and the other piece in the west. This kind of screen will be used for a long time and will be seriously deteriorated, which is a virtue like a mobile phone burning screen.
Speaking of maintenance tips, I have summarized the "three views and three touches" formula:
Look: After turning on the computer for half an hour, you can see if there are any light and dark stripes on the screen
Touch: Touch the border when shut down (be careful! ) Feel the temperature distribution
Test: Use a multimeter to measure the difference in resistance values in each area (normally, it should be <10%)
I handled a strange case last month: the transparent window screen in a shopping mall always splashes on time at 2 pm. After searching, I found that the problem was the copper skin - the western sun caused local temperature rise, and the copper foil heat expansion and contraction broke the welding points. Later, a sunshade fin was added and the copper skin was changed to wave wiring to solve the problem.
Some fans may ask: "The copper skin position really has such a big impact on the display effect? "Let me put it this way, I tested two rental screens with similar parameters last year: A uses a single-layer copper leather, and B uses a double-layer staggered copper mesh. After 72 consecutive hours of aging test, the brightness of the A model was 23% decayed and the color coordinate offset was 0.08. ; The B model has a decay of only 8%, and the color shift is controlled within 0.03. This gap can be seen directly with the naked eye!
Finally, let’s tell the truth: Nowadays, some manufacturers make copper skin like paper in order to save costs. This kind of screen may be fine just after buying it, but it will definitely be a problem if it takes half a year to use it. Remember to ask the manufacturer to provide a perspective view of the driver board when purchasing next time, focusing on the copper cover area and wiring regularity. After all, this thing is like a human blood vessel. Can the body be cured if the blood vessels are blocked?
