Last week, a fan who owns a milk tea shop came to me anxiously, saying that his newly installed transparent LED screen always flashed videos like snowflakes on an old-fashioned TV, and customers thought it was haunted! To put it bluntly, this is because the refresh frequency is not adjusted properly. Did you know? 30% of screen problems on the market now are caused by this parameter, especially transparent screens with a transparency rate of more than 80%. If it is not adjusted well, 720p videos can be played into PPT!

​​What exactly is the refresh frequency? ​ ​
Let's use an analogy, this thing is like the speed of turning comic books. Ordinary LED screens can turn 60 pages per second (60Hz), but transparent screens need to take into account light transmission.​ ​At least 1920 pages must be turned (1920Hz)​ ​Ability not to flash. Here comes the point:

1. ​​Visual safety line​ ​: The screen used indoors should not be lower than 1920Hz, otherwise your eyes will be sore if you stare at it for a long time.
2. ​​Shoot without black lines​ ​: If it is used for live streaming or video shooting, it is recommended to increase it to 3840Hz or above.
3. ​​Don’t mess around with brightness​ ​: When the brightness of the outdoor screen is turned on to 7500cd/m² during the day, the refresh rate must be increased by 20% simultaneously.

(At this time, someone must have asked: Will it waste electricity if the setting is too high? The actual measured data speaks for itself - increasing the refresh rate from 1920Hz to 3840Hz consumes 0.03 more degrees of power per square meter per hour, which is almost negligible)

​​Where is the settings button hidden? ​ ​
The most common mistake novices make is to look for physical buttons all over the world. In fact, high-end screens now use smart controls:

1. ​​Control system software​ ​: Open the control software provided by the screen manufacturer on the computer and find the "Optical Parameters" tab in "Advanced Settings"
2. ​​Remote control shortcut keys​ ​: Press and hold the setting button for 3 seconds, wait until the indicator light turns blue, then enter "up, up, down, left, right, left」
3. ​​Mobile APP linkage​ ​: After scanning the QR code to bind the device, you can fine-tune it to single digits in "Expert Mode"

3. ​​Heat dissipation must keep up​ ​: Every time the refresh rate is increased to 1000Hz, the cabinet temperature will increase by 3-5°C. Remember to check whether the cooling fan is normal.

There is a lesson learned through blood and tears: a transparent floor tile screen was used in a concert. In order to pursue the ultimate effect, the refresh rate was adjusted to 5000Hz. As a result, the entire screen went black during the third song - the heat sink was burned and deformed!
