Today I will break it apart and talk about this seemingly simple but hidden wiring problem. I will ensure that you can step on 80% of the pitfalls after reading it.

▌​​Red and black lines are not decorative strips​​
Let’s understand something first: red and black lines are the life gate of the display screen. Red corresponds to V+ (power supply positive pole), black connects to V- (power supply negative pole). 3. Red to red, black to black insert terminals
4. Use a wire crimping pliers to compact (it is only in place when you hear the "click" sound)
5. Finally wrap three layers of insulating tape (don’t use transparent tape! )

There is a trick: use your phone to take a picture of the state before wiring, so that even if you connect it wrong, you can change it accordingly. Last time, I installed a fence screen for a gymnasium in Tokyo, and the 20 sets of wiring ports were all done by this trick.

▌​​Will it really burn the screen if it is connected in the opposite way? ​ ​
To be honest here: most smart screens now have anti-reverse protection. But if you encounter an old rental screen, you can see "fireworks" in the reverse connection - it's not to scare you, a P3 screen was smoked at the Shenzhen Exhibition last year. After checking, it was because the power cord was connected in reverse and the driver IC burned.

But don’t be too panic. I’ll teach you a first aid trick: if the screen becomes hot after the reverse connection, the power will be cut off immediately! Wait for half an hour to cool down and rewire it, and 80% of the cases can be rescued. Focus on the power indicator light - it is normal to be green and always light up. If it turns red, please contact the manufacturer's technical support immediately.

▌​​Wiring secrets for special scenarios​​
When encountering a deadly position like the dance floor tiles screen, the wiring head must be made​ ​Waterproof treatment​ ​. Take the plan we made for a music festival as an example. Each joint is wrapped with three layers of heat shrink tubes and then filled with epoxy resin. It is still as stable as an old dog on heavy rains.

Sports event screens are more particular: use an aviation plug with a lock to prevent athletes from falling off due to collision. Remember this parameter——​ ​IP65 protection level screen must be equipped with military-grade connectors​ ​, don't save these few dollars!

▌​​Three magical tools to prevent mistakes​​

3. ​​Colorful label stickers​ ​(Posted with red dots in the red area, black dots in the black area)

There is a unique skill of a ruthless colleague: use laser-etching V+/- marking on all terminals. Although the cost is higher, it completely eliminates the possibility of reverse connection and is especially suitable for customized event display systems.
