Where should the LED display be placed? Choosing the right location doubles the effect

2025-11-15 29

Hey guys, have you noticed that there are more and more screens on the streets recently? From the moving advertising wall at the entrance of the shopping mall to the electronic screen scrolling the menu in the hot pot restaurant, where should these big luminous things be placed? Let’s talk about this today.

Where should the LED display be placed? Choosing the right location doubles the effect

1. Outdoor advertising screen: Street C position is not a universal formula

Everyone thinks that just putting the big LED screen on the intersection is the end of it? It's really not that simple. Last year, a field test was conducted in a business district in Shenzhen and it was found that the viewing comfort of a screen 3-5 meters above the ground and tilted 15 degrees was 40% higher than that of a screen hung directly on the wall. There is something important here: - **Avoid direct sunlight at noon: It is recommended to install a sunshade for south-facing screens (the measured life of the project we did for Ginza, Tokyo was extended by 3 years) - **Keep a safe distance**: Set back at least 1.5 meters from the screen on the sidewalk (don’t let pedestrians hit it while walking) - **Pay attention to the visual gap: The advertising screen on the top of the 30th floor must be made two sizes larger (it will shrink when viewed from a high-altitude perspective)

Take the P4 curved screen we made for Singapore as an example. It was installed at the corner of the shopping mall facade. The curved design allows the screen to be clearly seen within 80 meters on both sides. This is much smarter than a traditional flat screen, right?

2. Indoor display screen: Don’t let good equipment eat dust

Last week I went to visit a client's company. Oh my god, the 4K screen I bought at a huge price was hung in the conference room facing the window. It was so reflective in broad daylight that I couldn't even see people's faces. Here are the key points: - **More than 2 meters away from natural light sources (especially glass curtain wall buildings) - **Installation height = space floor height × 0.6** (For example, for a 3-meter-high store, the center point of the screen is placed at 1.8 meters) - **The interactive screen should be installed in the "Golden Triangle": 0.9-1.2 meters away from the ground and 1-1.5 meters away from the viewer (the conversion rate of the order screen we built for a chain milk tea shop increased by 27%)

Speaking of this, an interesting story comes to mind. Last year, the owner wanted to install a floor tile screen in the e-sports hotel in the center of the lobby. Later, the master conducted on-site testing and found that by changing the location to the ground at the entrance of the box aisle and using the footstep sensing special effects, the player's retention time was directly doubled. So, good equipment must be placed in the right place to be outstanding.

3. How to set up special scenes? There is a way here

1. **Stage floor tile screen**: Never tile the whole piece! Experienced masters will make a slope of 3-5 degrees (anti-slip and enhances visual depth) 2. **Transparent window screen**: A model with a transparency rate of 86% is most suitable for installation at a height of 1.5-2 meters (it does not affect the display of physical objects and can superimpose dynamic advertisements) 3. **Stadium fence screen**: An observation opening must be left every 8 meters (this was a disadvantage during the renovation of the Premier League stadium last year)

The physical fitness data screen we installed in Korean gyms is a typical case. Originally installed on the wall of the equipment area, members always looked up at the data. Later, it was changed to the position of the treadmill handrails and combined with voice broadcasts, which increased the training time of members by an average of 12 minutes.

Let me tell you, this LED screen is like adding salt to cooking - more is not always better, the key is to put it in the right place. Next time you plan to install a screen, think through the usage scenario first, and then find a reliable master to check it out on site. Remember, a good screen + the right position = a great combination!
